Dear Friends,

I have to start with this loaded question… Would you like to make a little extra income each month? Well, I’m doing it on Goread! Check this GoRead Buzz Video.

First, let me tell you why you might not want to use GoRead.

  1. It’s a social media platform that requires you to write content and share it.
  2. There are some expenses every month, which you will need to keep track of for your business expenses at tax time.
  3. The platform is always growing with new subscribers to share your content and for you to share their content (for which you earn points and $), so you will have to network with other though leaders.
  4. The platform is also growing technically and the added services sometimes make it seem temporary dysfunctional… kinda like Facebook was a few years ago.
  5. We may seem a little cultish to some… We have an awesome Mutual Admiration Society here in Montreal of established authors & coaches who help each other with all this sharing. We call our group BUZZ TOO. There are several similar groups on GoRead as well.

f) You will need to dedicate anywhere from one to two hours a week to earn an average of $300 USD a month.

f) It’s not magic. It’s not a lottery. It’s work, folks.

Second, let me tell you why you might want to use GoRead.

  1. There are thousands of writers, authors, and coaches from all areas on it, and they are all helping each other become better writers.
  2. It’s a community of thought leaders.
  3. It’s an easy to use, one-stop-shop, for distributing your content over several social media platforms.
  4. This is an amazing place to write and share your ideas and have a supportive audience to help you grow.
  5. You can re-use your own content & articles from your own blogs. This will take you even less time a week.
  6. Sign up from this link and send me a message as soon as you have. I will share with you everything I’ve done to get revenue here.

Finally, I’ve been on GoRead for 7 months now and I’m averaging $300 USD a month from about 2 hours a week’s work.

Let me clarify this statement:

It didn’t take me 7 months to build to this average.

I hit over $400 on the second month.

My average is lower for two reasons:

1- My first month was only 3 days long.

2- I took two weeks off during the 7 months where I didn’t submit weekly articles.

So, how would you like to earn a little extra cash while doing what you already do and have fun doing it.

Check this out this GoRead Buzz Video and let me help you.

  2. At one time the pie seemed bigger because there were fewer authors in the buzz program. I believe I made over $800 my first month. There were only a handful of authors splitting that $20,000 pool. Let’s say 10. How many authors are there now? Let’s guess low and say 100. The size of the pool doesn’t go much above 20,000 even with the $20 add requirement and more authors.
My average since that first outlier month has been under $200. March was $175 and April was lower. Still profitable when you consider the membership fee, add buy in and required book purchase. That’s around $70 a month. So that’s $100 profit for writing/reading/sharing. Depends if you think that 2, 3 or 4 hours spent is worth that $100.
And in reality, after taxes that $100 is more like $55 or $60 after taxes.

    1. Mike,
I haven’t hit the $800 a month mark yet, but I haven’t gone below $300 / month since my second month in.
I believe the number of people on GoRead is much higher than you think. Yes, there are fewer authors than readers, but your numbers are not accurate. I’m a Fan of well over 1000 authors and have close to 250 fans of my own, not including the nearly 500 followers for my Library page.
I really haven’t needed to put in more than 2 hours a week since that first month when I made a massive effort to follow Bill Bergfeld’s guidance.
As for the taxes situation, the $70 cost is part of my business expenses, so I win there as well. My over $200 USD / month profit remains pretty much at par because of the business expense deductions, it permits me. I wasn’t getting those deductions on self-improvement books before, now I am.
For me, at least, it has been profitable.

This platform really is a social media platform and it requires that sort of attention.
You and I have had a few conversations off-line and I stand by what I said, if and when it no longer turns a profit (time & money), I will quit GoRead. In the meantime, it is working beautifully with my networking, this blog, and my growing consulting business.

I stand by my statement that it’s a great place to make a little extra cash, especially if you are already working social media (ie: writing content and sharing it, as well as other people’s content.)

Finally, the fact that we can pretty much cancel when we want to is a great bonus. No yearly fee, or penalty works in our favour.

So far the biggest inconveniences have been their struggling to answer customer service questions, which I often can get answered from other authors I’ve connected with, and that Ken Dunn sends emails promoting his book publishing services, which I easily ignore.

I know you’ve had some frustrating experiences with GoRead, so I can understand that it’s not been a great experience for you. Do you think there’s something I can help you with to make that experience better?

      M.
