“When you’re going through hard times and wonder where God is, remember the teacher is always quiet during the test.” By Keanu Reeves

These messages are increasingly coming at the most opportune times and I wonder if the teacher is not being so quiet anymore, because I’m actively listening, or because I’m hearing my inner voices more clearly. Today, before writing this, I was worrying about a new challenge that came from one of my clients. When I first read the email, I could only think about how little I wanted to really do the work they asked for, and all the reasons it bored me. I was basically defeating myself before I started. At the same time, I was asking the universe for a sign about how to deal with these thoughts and feelings. Truth be told, I was also fantasizing about lottery winnings agains, so I could get out of the whole thing. Well, daydreaming is one of my default procrastinations.

It didn’t take long for me to hear other voices as well. I was asking for more money and here was a bigger contract that would bring it. There was no indication that it was impossible to do. In fact, when I reread it on my bigger laptop screen, I realized that it was very do-able. So, I decided to let go of the worry, quiet my mind, and listen for the teacher. Nothing came from the teacher right away. But a quiet did come over me and I just knew it would be all good.

What does this quote mean to you?

  1. It is a beautiful quote. It tells you that you don’t know what life will bring you, therefore always be positive and show the best you can!
