“How do you move on? You move on when your heart finally understands that there is no turning back.”  By J.R.R. Tolkien

Eckhart Tolle talks a great deal about this in his mindset altering book, The Power of Now. The recurring message is that we cannot change the past, nor can we relive it, so let it go. When you embrace the fact that time and you can only move forward, you will stop resisting g it; your heart will become lighter, happier, and more content. Eventually, this new habit will also fill your heart with joy and gratitude… that feels a lot like motivation!

Think about any project you have embarked on. You may have worries and even panicked thought the initial parts of the project, and then felt a release when you realized you just can’t start overt, so you might as well make the best of what you have done and continue. I’ve felt this with almost all my university papers. There is almost always a point where I exhaust myself from perfection worries and just wrap it up with a resignation to accept and learn from the feedback of my colleagues and professors. Oh yes, it is a great relief and release of energy. It feels good. So far, the results have been above expectation. To be honest, it’s a good kick in the arse of my insecurities.

What do you feel when there’s no turning back?
