There she sits, unremarkable
Blue jeans, white shirt
Looking through bric-a-brac papers
A salvage
From the junkyard of a too big purse
Head bowed
Disheveled in insecurity
She glances and retreats
A shell of shyness.
Poor girl
I hope she has a good life.

Notes: Wow, I must have been really down on myself to write such a condescending piece. I’m grateful that I’ve forgotten that day!

Why did you feel she wasnt happy/ sorry for her?

Great question!!! I wrote this about 20 years ago and I am sure it was a projection of feelings about myself. She was simply the canvas upon which I painted those feelings.
