A facial expression caught in time can move well beyond the moment to reveal some of the past and give a glimpse of the future. You, the observer, will decide the feelings that go along with the expression. I have a theory that if we got a hundred reflections on this expression, we would get a hundred subtly different ones. I’d love to read what you see in this face. What is it saying to you and/or to its conversational partner?

This face is part of a conversation on the great mysteries of the universe with its partner image (Subtle Thinking). The broadness of the face is meant to show that it invites the conversation and is open to the thoughts of others. The blur around the eyes show that it is thinking in all directions and considering all possibilities.

    1. You are very, very kind with this question.

I stooped making art with an intention to sell them a few years ago. I started questioning my motivations for making art I liked and realized it often became a deep need for external validation, which seldom came. I’m not sure I wish to entertain the old habit of seeking validation again.

That being said, I would love to hear more about what attracts you to this work and any others you’ve noticed on my blog. Where and how would you display it.

I believe this drawing may be in some old sketch book of similar and explorations. I would love for them to be seen by appreciating eyes and minds. We could talk more about it, if you wish.

In the meantime, thank you and know I’m grateful you like the drawing.
