Beneath the lily pads,

Amidst the murky waters,

Lies a world we do not see,

A world of darkness and shadows.

Do the fish that lurk beneath,

See us as their monsters,

With our clumsy ways and invasive sounds,

Are we the intruders in their domain?

Their imaginations running wild,

As they weave stories of our misdeeds,

Tales of terror and destruction,

In the eyes of these underwater denizens.

But who are we to judge,

These creatures in their keep,

Ignorant our ways,

Just as we are of theirs.

So let us marvel at their world,

And the mysteries it holds,

For in the shadows beneath the lily pads,

Lies a world waiting to be explored.
