Beyond the fences,

our perceptions blur,

woven barriers that separate

what’s inside and what’s outside,

tangible symbols of control

in a world that seeks to define.

Fences, made of wood or wire,

rusted metal or decomposing stone,

their physicality betrays

the boundaries they impose,

constricting freedom,

influencing our perspective.

But it’s not just their presence,

their solidity or their form,

that makes fences so powerful,

but the emotions they evoke:

the fear, the longing,

the sense of separation and loss.

We see our world through humble eyes,

imperfect lens interpreting our reality,

and fences tap into this perception,

reinforcing our sense of division,

exacerbating our differences,

and amplifying our fears.

Fences, then, become more than just barriers,

they are reflections of our psyche,

our hopes and our fears,

our need for order and control,

our desire for freedom and expression,

all woven together in a web of perceptions

that shapes our world and our destiny.
