Lost in the thick of it all,
Can’t see the forest for the trees.
The dead and dying reeds and branches,
A skeletal reminder of the heat.
In the dog days of August,
The undergrowth withers away.
But amidst the decay,
There’s a hidden beauty on display.
A robust nature surrounds,
A testament to the cycle of life.
But on closer scrutiny,
A new meaning comes to light.
This is the last straw,
The final sign of what’s to come.
But even in the end,
There’s always something to be won.
So let the dead and dying fall,
And embrace the new life to be found.
For in the midst of change,
A deeper truth is always around.
