In the lobbies of many buildings,
Form is sacrificed for function,
Uniformity reigns supreme,
Homogeneity becomes the norm.
They blend together,
A sea of sameness,
Their purpose obscured,
Their identity lost.
The polished floors and sterile walls,
A testament to efficiency,
Yet they lack character,
And fail to inspire.
The buildings they serve,
Become faceless and forgettable,
Their lobbies a generic greeting,
A bland first impression.
In this sea of sameness,
We lose our sense of place,
Our connection to the environment,
Reduced to a utilitarian space.
But amidst this monotony,
Could be a spark of individuality,
A chance to break free,
And create a space with personality.
Let us not forget the importance,
Of form and function intertwined,
For without both,
We are left with a soulless design.
