Fall clouds at dusk,
sepia and blood-stained,
silhouettes formed through dying stalks
in desiccated fields.
Terrifying and satisfying silences
as we stop to absorb,
the rustle of leaves
the only sound.
A moment frozen in time,
as the world fades into darkness,
leaving only the nemonic ghosts
to haunt our dreams.
We are but passive spectators
in this grand spectacle of life,
viewing the seasons change
and the world transforms on this live TV of life.
The wonder of Fall,
with its terrific colours and crisper air,
is a reminder of the temporality of life,
and the ubiquity of transformation.
But even in the midst of decay,
there is a certain kind of beauty,
a poetry in the way the world changes,
and we are left to bear witness.
Gift yourself and embrace these moments,
these terrifying and satisfying silences,
and let them wash over you like waves,
reminding you of the beauty that exists
even in the dimming of the light.
