Through the haze of smoke and neon lights,

I wander, searching for my true form.

A chameleon, I shed my skin with ease,

trying on different guises like a child with dress-up.

The leather jacket and shades of rebellion,

the flowery shirt of a hippie dreamer,

the tailored suit of a businessman,

each outfit a mask to hide behind.

I comb my hair into different styles,

a shaggy mop, a slick pompadour,

each cut a new persona to try on.

But still, beneath the surface,

a voice whispers, “Who are you really?”

Am I the sum of my appearances,

or is there something more profound?

Perhaps, in the depths of my being,

there lies a core identity, unchanging,

unaffected by the whims of fashion and trend.

And so I search, exploring each guise and look,

hoping to catch a glimpse of my true self,

to discover the essence of who I am,

beneath the masks and costumes.
