Rushing through life, we become like ghosts
Lost in the urban subways of humanity
Blaring past each other, unaware
Of the beauty that might surrounds us
The speed of life is a relentless force
Dragging us along, whether we want to go or not
We forget to stop and see what’s in front of us
To take that breath to appreciate the moment
The world passes us by in a blur
As we chase after our dreams and desires
But occasionally, in the midst of the chaos
We remember to slow down and admire
The beauty that lives in the simple things
The colours of the sunset, the smile of a child
The sound of the birds, the rustling of leaves
These are the moments that make life worthwhile
And practice against becoming ghosts in the urban subways
Open your eyes, focus, and take it all in
Because the speed of life will continue to rush on
But we can choose to slow down and truly live.
