Oh, Joe Beef, the man of myth and meat,
Whose name still echoes on Notre-Dame street.
His tavern was a haven for the hungry and bold,
And tales of his feats are still proudly told.
With whiskey and wine, he’d entertain,
And with his stories, the night would sustain.
But it was his food that truly amazed,
With meats and seafood, expertly glazed.
His oysters were plump, his lobsters divine,
Oh his beef and foie gras, were simply sublime.
The flavours would burst with every bite,
And the aromas would linger well into the night.
Joe Beef was a legend, a culinary king,
And his namesake eatery is the place to be seen.
With laughter and music, and plates piled high,
It is again the perfect spot to let the hours fly.
Though Joe himself has long since passed,
His legend lives on, with new feasts and repasts.
For it’s not just the food, but the spirit within,
That makes Joe Beef a true Montreal icon.
