The grumpy old thespian slowly transformed into a zombie-like actor as I added more layers of Conte and graphite… The zombie feel came to me as I drew the eyes almost completely rolled up in their sockets and then the white cake makeup transformed it into something even more frightening than a zombie thespian. Well, actually the transformation occurred as I was contemplating the possible alternate meanings of the expression “putting on my face”. What if this was an ill-fitting skin mask, carefully removed from an old thespian and gently worn by this new possessor? The three dots before the title suddenly became essential to add a thoughtful nonchalance on the calm response to the shocked question: “what the hell are you doing?!?”
