I had fully intended to give you several steps, like I would when painting with acrylics or oils, but this one seemed to want to finish faster. On my second sitting it all came together. While I’m not entirely satisfied with it, I seldom am with any of my works, it told me there was nowhere more to go. I can say that I still don’t have a deep appreciation for painting with watercolour paints. Maybe it will come with time.

I really enjoy how each element floats in its own dimension and even the individual shadows are acting their own way. I would like to add more drama with white, but it wasn’t working how I wanted, so I’ll leave it as is.

  1. Well done. It’s a very lively painting. White is hardest part of water color painting. The artist must reserve it from the beginning, which means knowing in advance WHERE you want the white.
