I started worrying about the3 angles and perspectives of this odd bull-cow thing, then let that go when I knew it was going. to be about rendering a fun Southwest colour palette. here are not really the traditional oranges, reds, yellows and browns I associate with Southwest art, but the warmth of my pastel crayons feels correct. The bold lines and sharp colour fields are satisfying. I feel I may repeat this too often, but my goal is to render these creatures in a childlike way and when my garde one students sneak peeks at my work I always get confirmation that I’m successful. All I need to hear is “IT’S A COW, MR. MARIO”.

I’d like to draw your attention to the eyes… they seem to be moving rapidly. to the side. What do think they are looking at?

More to come…
