On the hillside of Montreal lies a solemn ground,

Where the living dare not make a sound,

For the Mount Royal Cemetery is where the dead reside,

And their memories, in the silence, do preside.

The graves are many, and some tombstones tall,

On the winding pathways, they can enthral,

For each one tells a story of a life gone past,

Where the echoes of their souls forever last.

Here, the air is heavy with a mournful tone,

But the spirits of the departed are not alone,

For the trees do whisper and the wind does sigh,

When the night draws near and the day will die.

Beneath the moon, the statues come alive,

And the shadows dance, and the spirits thrive,

For this is their home, and here they rest,

In the eternal slumber, they are truly blessed.

Mount Royal Cemetery, how you do inspire,

With your tales of love, loss, and desire,

May the living remember the ones who have passed,

And keep their memories alive, forever to last.
