The Gifting – A New Abstract-ish, Neo-Expressionist-ish… well you decide…

In my last post on this, I started stating this piece is almost un-original in the borrowing of styles, isms, and possibly even components from other artists… well my brain is so full of art that I just let it roll with whatever comes out… I’ll worry about defining it later.

I decided. to. start with some solid colours that will be played with later by adding layers in both dry-brushing and wash techniques… right now, I’m working through my old stock of acrylics and see where that will go, before I have to restock colours, mediums, and varnishes…

I’m listening to a playlist recommended. to me by Spotify: Rhythm Junction by Mario Bradley. Maybe the rockabilly rhythms are making this work feel more whimsical, maybe the work itself is giving me the mood for this. uplifting music… either way… I’m enjoying the process.
