Using a handmade marking brush: The handle is from cutting off of my lilac tree and jute twine, The brush is spectacular (IMO). I used small twigs from a shrub growing under the lilac tree.

I had no idea if they would hold any ink to mark with, but they did. As I was making this drawing I felt like my head was surrounded by bees… not in a scary way, but in a chaotic thoughts way. I let the hand and the brush direct the creation and what I see is my own face trapped in a swirling maelstrom of possibilities. Is this a vision of stress for me? Perhaps. It is also an affirmation that I crave chaos and stress to motivate my work. Not always and certainly not consciously, but I must acknowledge that I do. Welcome to my chaotic mind.
