See more of Montreal Walls

It’s only a guess that the “OMEN” tag came first. Perhaps it was followed by the cartoonish monochrome face on the upper right corner of my photo. What really adds the power to the word is the profile face painted below the word. From my Western perspective, the composition reads from left to right and the eyes are looking forward with intensity and foreboding. The colourful and older Graffiti in the far left contrasts perfectly with the monochrome face and really adds to the feeling that something ominous lays ahead. The various artists who participated in the covering of this wall complimented each other’s work beautifully and have all kept the story flowing from the simple message of the primary tag: “OMEN”. I will have to revisit this wall again and see how the story unfolds.

more to come…
