Candy – Sheet-music Scribbles 2023

I’m not sure what inspired this simple cat. Perhaps it’s those moments when you cat wakes up and does their weird stretch. that feels like they are actually scrunching up their whole body and pushing their spines upward. I’m thinking the original impetus for this one disappeared when I started to enjoy the colour play of pinks against greens. I wonder why this combination appeals to me so much. Also, the brown ground is something I try to steer away from, as I feel it’s too common, but here it works perfectly. It helps the pinks pop and delivers a satisfying horizon. The smile on the face makes me want to say that my cat knows I understand him… at least a little.
