On my first walk following the isolation edits, I wandered with my daughter, contemplating what all this would come to. The world seemed scarier, emptier, lonelier. Everywhere I looked I saw signs of death. Oddly, it was a very sunny Spring day and the weather was beautiful. My mood was influencing my vision. A small gust of wind blew this solitary leaf on the sidewalk and I became fascinated by the shadow it had cast. I got down as low as I could get to capture the longest shadow and noticed the shadow was defying physics by casting on both sides of the leaf. It was 4h30 in the afternoon, so the sun wasn’t straight above, but at an angle. It was probably just the angle I was at, but I wanted this in my shot.

  1. Wow I wouldn’t have noticed about the leaf’s shadow at all! And I didnt until you said so too.

    That’s pretty cool. X
