I’m not sure what this little weed is; I only know it’s beautiful! There are a few that pop up around my garden, from under a heavy cover of other plants. They almost always only have a single yellow blossom showing at a time and several waiting their turn. It is only about 2mm x 4mm in size and the yellow shines like a sunflower. This one lived under my Japanese maple in a bad of a ground cover hat has spread all over my property.

I’m continuously amazed how Mother Nature finds a way to juxtapose complimentary colours, in this case canary yellow, vibrant green, and burgundy.
