Over the next four weeks we are meant to play with some objects we choose from around our house and will arrange in different compositions to paint as a still life. Ok, then!!!

I picked a bunch of my own sculptures… mainly because it has helped stir up the creative juices in the past for me to reproduce my own works in different media.

My choices: A Goddess sculpture, A Tall Face vase, a small pot with a cactus in it, some steal-ore balls in a jar (and one out of the jar), and a small green plastic container. It came together more when I decided to use this metal doctors cabinet I’m refurbishing. I placed a big sheet of cardboard behind it for a neutral back-drop and played with the lighting to cast some shadows.

Next challenge… painting with the distractions of others talking through the Zoom class. Arghhh.
