Bad Birds Six – I Want To Be Impossible

I believe I was dragging the Skeksis (The Dark Crystal) from my subconscious when the brush first touched the paper for this one. Combined with a strange, one-legged creature from the Faerie kingdom, whose name escapes me, this giant bird emerged. Oh, yes, it is a giant! I imagine it a hun drew feet tall at least; slowly hoping across the countryside, devouring whatever it finds.

Look at the eye… to what extent do you feel it is aware of you?

I used less white in this blend; opting for different tones of yellow/orange, or blues… I chose to add the oil pastels to add moody noise to the monster’s environment and give the feeling of his alertness.

Materials: Watercolour & oil Pastel on 140 lbs. cotton paper.
