“I want to live simply. I want to sit by the window when it rains and read books I’ll never be tested on. I want to paint because I want to, not because I’ve got something to prove. I want to listen to my body, fall asleep when the moon is high and wake up slowly, with no place to rush off to. I want not to be governed by money or clocks or any of the artificial restraints that humanity imposes on itself. I just want to be, boundless and infinite.” By unknown

Bang on!!! Personally, I have never been able to express this to anyone else with full conviction. I know it’s because I’ve always been too concerned about what they’d say and think of me. Frankly, I’ve been too concerned about what I’d say and think of myself to voice it out loud. Can you imagine the internal strength of the person who says it and really doesn’t give a fig what anyone else (including the inner demon voices) think? What freedom! What power! Maybe one day I will not give a F***, as the popular book by Mark Manson teaches us. Until then, I need to consider how to achieve some of this peaceful life. Last week, I realized that staying productive, busy, and moving forward deliver feelings of wellbeing. They also reap other benefits: experience, accomplishment, mastery, income, etc… These things deliver opportunities for increased freedoms and decreased stresses.

I want to simplify my life and can start by eliminating excuses and imagined barriers. I want to enjoy there pauses that come my way and not explain why I’m enjoying them. I want to be creative, because I just really get joy from being creative. I want to hear my body and give it the joys it requires. I want to get places early, because I feel peace while waiting, as opposed to guilt and stress from rushing late. I want financial freedom and acknowledge all the great stuff I already have in my life. I just want to be, free and abundant.

What do you want?
