I can again thank COVID for motivating me to take this course NOW… I have been told to teach online until the restrictions are lifted… this past two years have taught us that we are best to be prepared for that to be a moving target. Regardless, the schools I’ve taught at and the university have all fully embraced Google Classroom and the use of Google programs… they are part of an easy to use Learning Management System (LMS) and I’m tired of being stressed by the fight to integrate apps and programs from outside Google, just because I am more familiar with them. This course covers all you need to know to use Google Docs and it is delivered very clearly and inspirationally. However, you must dive in and use it!
Being a Mac user, this is my action call to take another paradigm shift, like I did so long ago when I shifted away from Microsoft. Thanks to LinkedIn and Google, it shouldn’t be too technologically challenging. I guess I am trying to convince myself that working in the cloud is easy and seamless and just as plug-and-play as my Mac feels. I’m determined and I will get there!
Course Description: “Take a closer look at Google Docs and discover how to build and share documents with rich formatting, images, and tables. In this course, Jess Stratton shows how to get around the web-based interface, create new documents, and add features such as footnotes, headers and footers, and page numbering. You can also see how to make your documents more engaging by adding images, Google drawing objects, and tables. Then learn how to share docs with others—for real-time, simultaneous collaboration—and take your docs on the go with the Google Docs app for mobile devices.”
