Inspired by People Are Strange by The Doors and the haunting sounds of a travelling carnival’s weathered calliope. Re-imagined in what I think Tom Waits might have done, had he wrote this song.

Carrying burdens and tales of their own demise.

They stumble and mumble, in the neon-lit night,

Chasing dreams in the darkness, outta sight.

Each one’s got a story, a heartache, a pain,

And they hide ’em all away like a rusty old chain.

In this carnival of souls, where the lost and the found,

Roam through the shadows, on haunted ground.

People are strange, no two are the same,

In this twisted old world, it’s a mysterious game.

So, if you’re looking for answers, don’t you know,
