Go ahead, Time—you hungry bastard, wreck your own damn show;

Dull the lion’s claws and make the old king slow.

Make the earth cough up whatever feeds your fire,

Burn the damn phoenix down if that’s your heart’s desire.

Let happy seasons flip from spring to freezing rain,

Do every dirty trick in your relentless game.

Put crow’s-feet on the world, wear every mountain thin,

Rust every classic ride and every stretch of skin.

Do your worst, old bastard—yeah, take your best shot too,

Just keep your filthy hands off one damn face I knew.

Don’t carve your roadmap wrinkles where that smile belongs,

Don’t steal the spark that keeps outliving all your wrongs.

Age everyone else if that’s your twisted plan;

My words keep you forever young, so screw you, old man.
