“Nothing can bring you peace, but yourself.” By Ralph Waldo Emerson

This seems to come back to the idea that we must first be happy, grateful, at peace, etc… before the experiences of life make us so. Having peace inside isn’t so much a shield against pain, as it is a lens through which to see the world.

In terms of law of attraction, we attract that which we project. Consider what you project as what you feel or think. I can’t promise this is an easy mindset to live by. Lord knows I struggle with it, but I do know that when I’m happy, I feel happy. When I feel happy, I see the world as a brighter place.

You might be thinking this is a bit of a chicken and egg question (which came first?), but in this case, it really is a clearer distinction. Do something that makes you feel truly happy, grateful, or at peace. Now, acknowledge that feeling; let it wash over and through you. Enjoy it completely. Feel it! It only takes seconds for this to happen. Now that you feel the euphoria, do anything else. You will be using a heightened energy from your emotional state and the new task/action will feel lighter.

For me, this means the source of peace, happiness, gratitude is inside us first and foremost. We must bring it to everything we do to enjoy whatever that thing is.
