“Stress is caused by being here, but wanting to be there.” By Eckhart Tolle

I have a real love-hate relationship with Eckhart Tolle! He has a viciously annoying skill for stating the truth to me, especially when I don’t want to hear it! Maybe he should have put this quote on the cover of The Power of Now, but it probably would have pissed off prospective buyers not ready to hear it.

Whenever we are not focused on the right now, on what we are doing, on the present, we are either missing something from our past or desiring something we haven’t got. You can add the word “yet” as much as you want, but it only reinforces the feelings associated to not having something. It builds you a lack mindset. Lack doesn’t feel very good, does it? The more you think about what you don’t have, the more you feel bad. The law of attraction in action, right before your eyes! What you feel-think about is what you get.

Ok, I haven’t consciously mastered the manifesting thing for positive outcomes yet, but I am increasingly aware of when I do it for negative things. You have to change your perspective on the things you want. For example, don’t say “I want that car”, say “I can see myself in that car.” Now let yourself imagine it and acknowledge all the nice feelings your imagination brings you.

So, if you don’t want to be here reading this, how do you feel about not being where you want to be?
