“It is hard to imagine a more stupid and dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong.” By Thomas Sowell
Go ahead, let your imagination run with this one. When it comes to making decisions about what you want in life, you will find nothing more stupid or dangerous. If you let other people make decisions for you, you alone will have to live with the outcomes.
If all you do is give into the “I should have’s”, then you are lucky. It could hurt your self-confidence or impact your opportunities. Letting the decisions of others lead you to mistakes only makes you look even weaker. Sorry for the doom and gloom message here. The upside is you can use this a s a reminder of the great value of your decisions.
Start with knowing why you are making your decisions. Make sure they resonate and forward your goals. Always remember that you are moving forward, and failures or mistakes are learning opportunities that are still steps forward. At the very least you will have proven another way not to do something. That is also a step forward. When someone else makes a mistake-decision for you, only you will have to pay for it.
