After all these readings, all these thoughts, reflections, and meditations, it seems to come down to a single thing, and that thing is making a choice. 

To be happy one must choose to be happy. 

I’ve recently embraced the practice of getting up every morning and making my first thought to be an intention that this is a good day. Nothing more complicated than that feeling. This day is a good day. It only took a few days for me to feel the energy flow first thing in the morning, right after thinking the words, for me to feel the strength of it. It gradually spreads across the day and into my other concerns and worries. It lightens them. I really only ever wanted happiness and now I’m placing it as my primary and only real goal. It makes it so much easier to focus on every day as the day I am happy. Today is a good day.
