See T’Hed Forty-Nine… just because!

Boredom helps inspire new directions… sometimes! I have this weird paper: yellow with a parchment mottling on it, 11″ x 17″… could be a special printer paper, as it isn’t very thick. I decided to glue on some old music sheet (cotton) paper pieces to it, paint on some gouache, and then draw over it all with pastels. Overall, it gives a really amazing textured look that my camera isn’t capturing very well. Also, I’m not sure of the pastels… I will play a little more with them and possible go back to the crayons. The biggest challenge was using the pastels on the still-wet surface. This could be a good opportunity to try some water-based oil paints I have… we shall see.

Stay tuned…
