In Montreal, by the river’s edge,
Stands a dome, a symbol of our time,
A vision of the future, a dream that we pledged,
To protect this earth, this home we deem sublime.
The Biosphere, a place of science and wonder,
A testament to man’s ingenuity,
A beacon of hope, a promise to ponder,
As we seek to heal our wounded ecology.
But it was not always so, this place of beauty,
For it once stood as a pavilion of shame,
A relic of Expo ‘67, a reminder of duty,
To remember our impact, our collective blame.
Yet from ashes, a phoenix did rise,
As the Biosphere took its place,
A place of learning, of research, of wise,
A space to contemplate, to pause, to embrace.
And now it stands, a jewel in our city,
A reminder of our responsibility,
To protect our world, our home, our duty,
For future generations, for all eternity.
