I’m putting together a report on all this in the form of a PowerPoint… mostly for my own desires, as the Fibres class I’m taking doesn’t seem to require this.

These are all meant to tests, as far as I can tell. I’m still unclear on what the heck the actual “Big project” is supposed to be. I’m thinking I may try to. make some sort of 3-D assemblage-like, quilt with all the samples and some of the different colours threads I dyed during the “Local Colours” project. But I digress…

For now, here’s a sneak peak at what the different resist techniques did in the Cochineal bath.

More to come…

    1. I might be describing it wrong… I think it’s more of a hanging tapestry made of assembled parts… combining weaving, sewing, and collage techniques with the fabrics I’ve dyed. It also has an ephemeral component, in that the Turmeric dye fades in the sunlight… So, I’d be including the prospective owner of the finished piece in the art making process… they will be able to make the final decision as to where to display the artwork and how much they want it to stay bright or not. For me, this ephemeral aspect adds to the Wabi-Sabi-ness of the entire piece.
