COVID has been rough on many for lots of different reasons, but the isolation seniors felt seems to have been even more pronounce.
My parents, for example, were affected by a complete drop in their social lives. They habitually saw family members nearly daily, prior to the shutdown. Then their grandchildren couldn’t visit the building they lived in.
Phone calls are part of my Mom’s routine, but texting enabled her to talk to everyone daily without worrying if they were to busy for a phone call.
When I started calling in FaceTime, it took them to a whole new level. So, yes, they learned new skills that kept them in touch with. Their family and friends! It was definitely good news to them!
