A little good news — for Astro-geologists?

Part of me geeks out on this sort of stuff. I mean, I understand the relevance of finding ancient, and I mean billion year old ancient, lake beds on the surface of Mars. Ok, so there was water there once; now it’s gone. So what? now what?

Also, the pictures just don’t flip my imagination switch. They look like any dry surface, only with that reddish Mars tint over it. Conspiracy theorists please step in here!!!

I’d like to know what we are doing on Mars. What’s our goal there?

Frankly, we have loads of urgent issues here on 🌍 to address right now! Let’s consider fixing our ecology before it looks like the one on Mars.
