I feel this might be the best of the five I did this same day. Maybe it’s the bigger face that allows the contracting colours to sine individually, or it’s that I was using the materials a little better to cover the surface, or my colour choices just worked better… whatever it is, I feel it works better… feel the red (gouache) shape across the face is particularly effective at raising some emotion while allowing the facial features to still be the subject focus. It also drives the viewer’s eye across the page in much the same way the floating squares do.
