Here we can imagine a clearly tiny dog, but feel that it might be massive. in my experience, many small dogs often seem to feel like they are giants: they stand tall, proud, fierce, and full of attitude. What makes such fragile creatures seem so big? Perhaps it’s attitude, personality, and a choice to believe in themselves. Not sure.
This little dog shines from within and stands boldly against a plain background; a powerful presence in his world. From the erect ears and tail we get more than alertness; we get preparedness and courage to face existence. The eyes seem to show a curiosity and questioning mind, not a fearful one.
I chose the white body with blue highlights to indicate that he absorbed the light and attention from all around him. He is centred in the composition and clearly the most important component of it.
What is he telling you?
