Simple beauty is all around us if we only stop a minute to look for it. I almost missed this beech leaf as I was raking up the yard, but something about it caught my eye. It’s fragile and sturdy at the same time. It seems to be trying to hold onto its integrity before the rot of life decomposes it completely.
The other odd thing is that my eye wants to roam around this composition and constantly moves to the upper left corner. I keep expecting to see something claw its way out of the deadfall.
