I let the feeling wash over me, through me, and out of me. It went right to the paper and I was left with a feeling of joy. This is what blues music dies for me too. I acknowledge the emotions of the medium and let it wash away the sadness. What is left is joy and bliss. While I felt small when getting ready to start this one, I felt it would have much less impact to draw the figure as small as I felt. The emotion of sadness was big and needed its space on the page. I didn’t want to deny its expression. The pastels allowed me to show something special about blues… it flows. It has fluctuating and flowing intensities. It moves. Available to own.
