If I were to express this in one word it would be: ominous. That was my first impulse reaction when I was how the shadow was caught on camera. If you start viewing the image from the bottom, you can see beautiful, warm light of subtle, natural tones. The little shadows and dark spots only act to enhance warmth. It’s as you look up and start to see the dark and massive shadow cast by the leaf that the mood changes. It feels like something is carrying the leaf and its shadow over the landscape… to block out the light and cover this micro-world with darkness. What sort of monster is carrying the leaf? I get a thrill thinking about this; like I did when watching old monster movies from the 1950s as a kid.
How does this make you feel?
