Many of you have seen my photos of this little Japanese Maple tree that is stubbornly surviving in my backyard. It’s been moved almost yearly since I first got it a decade ago. Many times have I thought it didn’t survive the winter and there was a very dry summer I was sure it had died, but it continues to produce its regal red leaves and slightly thicken its trunk. It seems to be happy to stay only about a meter tall.
I figured that I’ve spent a few hours watching the leaves, marvelling at the textures of the bark, and wondering how the whole plant undulates with greens, greys and crimsons. I have no doubt it will continue to fascinate me and be subject to my curious camera eye.
