Are you a fan of the old black and white, alien invasion, b-movies of the 1960s? Take a look at The Day of there Triffids and try to figure out what the artistic director must have been thunking whence created the Triffids. They were supposed to be some plant-like aliens. In the book, if my memory still serves me, they are giant in size and sound remarkably like Lovecraftian beasties. Instead, we get what resembles men dressed as giant daisies. All this to say that when I lowered the saturation on this photo, it reminded me of the several of these floral alien invaders… perhaps more the infecting spores in The Invasion of the Bodysnatchers, but absurdly alien nonetheless. you just have to embrace the absurd to enjoy that era of moviemaking.

I certainly see the resemblance and agree with your review of the film. It’s clearly one of the better underrated horror classics.
