My goal was to make the colours come alive: dynamic colours; fluid colours. Psychedelic or hypnotic could be used, but I feel they are just too easy… I want your eye to have a hard. time focusing on a single spot for too long; that. your mind will drag you back and forth across the composition and to forget that it is a simplistic and flat rendition of the concept:”Bird”. My eye keeps landing back on the upper left corner where there is more indigo colour. Other than the black outlines and brown boots, I’ve emulated the rainbow spectrum of colours, just not in a linear progression from infrared to ultraviolet. My eye also lands on the pink mountain-range feather-frings on the bird’s head… which feel like a mountains in the receding landscape.
Where does your eye land?
More to come…
