Ok, I was sort of spying on a couple next to me at the coffee shop. Not close enough to hear what they were saying, but the girl’s facial expression showed she was enjoying the person siting in front of her. I chose to draw the scene at the moment she lifted her chin, smiled, and let her face softly land in her hand, as you see it here. It was a scene of happiness for me.
I played with lightly layering charcoal and conte, so I could see the imperfect lines of the pencil, much like I enjoy doing with paint brush strokes.
