Contemplating A Darkness

Something deliciously evil just came over this guy’s mind and we are witnessing the beginning of the smile of awareness, as well as the subtle shadow that is growing from the right side of his face. He is looking right at you with a secret knowing. What did you ask him to get this look?

This was done with conte everywhere except the squiggly lines on each side of the face. I’ve been finding that the black paper leaves too much darkness in the background and left the figure floating in blank space. I’ve continued pursuing the process of blending and adding new layers of colour then blending again. I like how it’s coming along.
