I’m pretty sure this was an early exploration into my artist portraits series. I had decided to capture random faces from old pictures on Google images. I have no clue who this person was, but he reminds me of a face from a 19th century portrait. This might have been before photography was readily available. Some early business mogul, too busy to have his portrait painted, thus the clearly impatient look upon his face.
I’m amazed at how the dry pastels allow for such painterly strokes.

Very nice really! To be honest i tried dry pastel once and had fun with it but it is difficult to master it !

I think everything is initially difficult to master… I choose to play with materials and leave the worry about mastery to others.
