Milkweed pods always seemed like alien plants to me. I could probably give this fantasy to my Sunday afternoon movie times as a little kid when I watched flicks like Invasion of the Bodysnatchers, Day of the Triffids, They Come From Outerspace and other creature features. I learned early that there’s nothing scarier than what Mother Nature has created all around us… we only need to look at it from a different perspective. These pods were swaying in the wind as I walked by and I felt there was something more to them. I stopped, walked around them, close to them, and far away from them. I took a load of pictures until I saw it… they reminded me of birds sitting on a branch with their feathers all puffed up to stay warm in the cool wind.
